I am encountering the following errors in Windowsupdate WindowsUpdate_800706BA WindowsUpdate_dt000 The machine is runnning x64 Home Premium. Ive spent several hours googling and looking for solutions, but this seems to be a relatively unique combination Can anyone point me in the right direction for a fix?

MS released an additional update for Windows Vista on August 31th for those receiving error 800706BA while trying to install an update. This occurs when the Background Intelligent Transfer Service (BITS) state files are corrupted. To resolve this there is a fix available for download that should enable you to install that update and continue on with future updates Refer the below article for details and download links: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/940520
